AGAPE HAITI THEME QUOTE

"Farmers who wait for perfect wheather never plant.
If they watch every cloud, they never harvest" (Ecclesiates 11:4).

"Waiting for perfect conditions will mean inactivity.
If we wait for the perfect time and place, we will never begin.
Take steps now to grow.
Don't wait for conditions that may never exist.
Take a step out in faith and start planting!"

True or False?... Fact or Fiction?... Have you ever desired to gain more insightful and accurate knowledge about certain people, things, places or events? Well, this is the driving force that has inspired the creation of this website, AGAPE HAITI, in order to provide some fascinating facts about some remarquable subjects, all involving some Agape (Love), and or Haiti.

Although formerly nicknamed, "The Pearl of the Antilles", today, no one needs to tell you the story of Haiti as a country mired in poverty, suffering from deforestation, and haunted by political turmoil. Those descriptions are sprawled across the international press on an almost daily basis. What you don't hear often is the story we are about to tell. It is the story of incredible people, Haitians themselves, working against all odds. It is a story of committed individuals, dedicating their lives to improving their communities and their country.

One of our many highlights worth noting is certainly "The Thesis" (December 1977, by Samuel Jérémie of Dufailly, Haiti, "Mémoire: L'évolution de la Legislation Rurale Haitienne", (Memoir / Thesis: The Evolution of the Haitian Rural Legislation) , the writing of which, as a law school student, coupled with a national government campaign, played a major infulence in the formation on March 4, 1976, of "Conseil d'Action Communautaire des Bayes" (Community Action Council of Bayes), which legacy led to today's FAGAPCOMB, (Foundation Agape of the Community of Bayes), a philanthropic Nonprofit 501(c)3 Organization, headquartered in Dufailly of Bayes of Haiti. "The Thesis" will also edify us about many remarquable facets of Haiti: Excerpts of the Introduction and Conclusion of "The Thesis" on pages 7 and 104, respectively, read below:

"This work... fruit of our participation in a preliminary campaign of the peasant, was undertaken by the Government of the Republic, in order to encourage the peasant not to divorce from the land."

"This campaign brought us to different regions of the country: the Artibonite Valley, Thomazeau...Mirebalais, Dufailly,...Leogane,...to name a few. This pilgrimage led us to beleve that this rural world needed to be supported and understood by us of the cities so that it can fully participate in the economic and social process of the country and thus cease to be marginal men suffering, without any outside contact its infrahuman status."

"This new legislation incorporates into the rural life one of the most beautiful acquisitions of modern social activity: Community Action in its simplest form, wihich our "combites" or cooperatives are already following according to procedures more efficient and sustainable."

This will be a dynamic website, meaning that additional notable topics will be added progressively or existing ones will augment or modify in content with the passage of time. Therefore visit us often for more. In the meantime, please allow us to unleash boundless knowledge about a distinguished selection of Agape Haiti's notable "Who?"..."What?"..."Where?"..."When?...
